Services we Offer
We believe anything is possible, and flexibility is key, we understand the nature of challenges children face can act as a barrier to children’s access to education. Every child/young person is an individual with individual needs, with this in mind, we build individual plans tailored to each child/young person. We work together with Students, Schools and Families to set specific achievable realistic targets for children, which include a time frame and progress checks.
“Our pupil centered approach in designed to support children and young people in developing their personal academic skills and attitude to learning, Allowing them to focus within the main stream setting..”
We have extensive experience working children and young adults both in a mainstream and alternative provision setting. We specialise in working with a range of complex needs, including autism and profound multiple learning and behavioral difficulties.
We understand the importance of consistency with boundaries, and setting achievable targets to support self-worth with in a young person.
We as a team have in-depth experience in supporting children with complex needs and extensive Special Education Needs (SEN) We pride ourselves in our ability to provide an inclusion experience while providing inspirational and individual supported learning.
Our aim is to help the individual pupil to find themselves, and find meaning for their studies and their life. To do this, our central task, is pastoral work, we must be sensitive, warm, human, efficient, realistic, and thorough. The core of a our work is the disciplinary, educational, vocational, and personal guidance; and the pupils’ real situation must contribute to the formulation of our policy.
Short Term Courses
We believe the feeling of achievement is key to helping our students succeed
we provide a number of short term accredited courses that provide students to engage in subjects in which they already hold interes
We monitor our students with regular update using Milestones to monitor and regulate student performance and progression.
Milestones are to support the tutors to track the progression of our learners. They do not provide an alternative curriculum for children and young people with complex needs. Planning for such learning should continue to be based on the experiences and Outcomes from the curriculum for excellence with personalisation where required
It is important to provide the right working environment for each and every child, we understand that it may not be possible to support a child or young person in a mainstream school, either through transitional moves, challenges within the family home or issues with health and the need for care, 1-2 Achieve has the ability to adapt to provide a learning environment that meets the needs of the student.
Why is Pastoral Care central to everything we do
At 1-2 Achieve we believe pastoral care in education is critical, (Furrer & Skinner, 2003) explained “Effective pastoral care is linked to academic engagement and performance,” It was deduced that fostering friendly relationships among learners. These factors have been identified as solutions to improve truancy and other forms of absenteeism as well as enhance resilience and, hence, academic outcomes for learners.
