Our Unique Approach
“Each child has the right to be taught as an individual, and by putting caring and nurturing at the top of our list with a child we could just be the key to putting the sparkle back into their learning”.
We accept every child is different and has different educational needs, we formulate child specific plans centered on the child’s interests and abilities, while ensuring we follow our own core values.
It is important to us to look at each and every child individually, because every child has a unique character of strengths and abilities that allow then to express their individuality in an educational environment.
We monitor our students with regular update using Milestones to monitor and regulate student performance and progression.
Milestones are to support the tutors to track the progression of our learners. They do not provide an alternative curriculum for children and young people with complex needs. Planning for such learning should continue to be based on the experiences and Outcomes from the curriculum for excellence with personalisation where required
At 1-2 Achieve, we view every child as an individual with individual needs. Every child has the right to an education.
The team at 1-2 achieve will ensure every child or young person we work with receives the support they need to reach their full potential. This will sometimes include working with other agencies to ensure these needs are met. This could be working with schools, colleges, play therapists, social workers, and residential homes.
“Learner-centred education empowers the students to take ownership of what they learn by focusing on how the new knowledge solves a problem or adds value. Instead of simply pouring information over the child’s mind, the facilitator presents the student with an issue and guides the class as they build a solution”.
